At Hostelling International we pride ourselves on offering a comfy bed for the night, but there’s loads more stuff that goes on at our 4,000 hostels, around the world making each of them a unique and exciting place to stay.
Here’s a pick of three hostels offering unusual activities:
Hear some cool bands
The Loft Hostel in Reykjavik is an official venue of the Iceland Airwaves music festival.
The Balconies, Me & My Drummer, Shiny Darkly, For a Minor Reflection, Mammút, and Rökkurró are just a few of the acts who will perform during the festival, which starts on Wednesday 30 October and lasts until Sunday 3 November.
The hostel’s central location also makes it perfect for visiting the other venues. If you can’t make it this year, get a taste of The Balconies music here, then book your tickets for next year.
Learn a language
Stay in the popular Dublin International Hostel and learn to speak English in Ireland.
Study packages include a general English course and accommodation for a choice of five, 12, 19 or 26 nights.
The language school is just a five-minute walk from the hostel. Small classes and friendly teachers will help you improve your English and your confidence in speaking English too!
Plus you’ll have the chance to put your new skills to practice visiting popular tourist attractions so you can have fun while learning and see a little more of Ireland!
