HI hostels are not just for sleeping

At Hostelling International we pride ourselves on offering a comfy bed for the night, but there’s loads more stuff that goes on at our 4,000 hostels, around the world making each of them a unique and exciting place to stay.

Here’s a pick of three hostels offering unusual activities:

The Loft Hostel in Reykjavik is an official venue of the Iceland Airwaves music festival.

The Balconies, Me & My Drummer,  Shiny Darkly, For a Minor Reflection, Mammút, and Rökkurró are just a few of the acts who will perform during the festival, which starts on Wednesday 30 October and lasts until Sunday 3 November.

The hostel’s central location also makes it perfect for visiting the other venues. If you can’t make it this year, get a taste of The Balconies music here, then book your tickets for next year.
