Exploring Cornwall’s Coastal Splendour

Cornwall is home to numerous natural wonders. From the Lizard Peninsula to St. Michael’s Mount. With YHA Treyarnon Bay as a base, set off onto the South West Coast Path. Views of dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, and hidden coves are simply stunning. Why not try your hand at surfing or body-boarding? Visit nearby landmarks like the dramatic cliffs of Stackpole Head, or explore the charming village of Solva with its colourful cottages and harbour. Or you could just relax by the sea…. 🙂

Transylvanian Themes in North Yorkshire 

The seaside town of Whitby, rich in history, even tales of Dracula! Explore the iconic Whitby Abbey, next to YHA Whitbyand climb the 199 steps as Dracula did, but not for the stunning views! Visit the Captain Cook Memorial Museum and discover the Jurassic Coastline, maybe some fossils too! From here set off for a trip on the nearby North York Moors Steam Railway and fall in love with the heather-clad moors and ancient woodlands. The more energetic hostellers can discover the region easily by bike or on foot. You won’t want to leave! 

 The Lake District, A Poet’s Paradise 

With stunning lakes, rugged mountains, and picturesque villages, the Lake District, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a fantastic destination.  YHA Ambleside is perfectly situated for a memorable stay, right in front of Lake Windermere. Relax on the terrace or take a leisurely boat ride. You can hire a bike or hike to one of the nearby fells, like Loughrigg Fell. Make sure you pop over to Grasmere, with its charming stone cottages it is the former home of poet William Wordsworth. Enjoy!!
