Sydney Central YHA Just Keeps Winning Awards

Sydney Central YHAEarlier this week Sydney Central YHA was awarded Gold at the prestigious Accommodation Association of Australia (AAA) Awards in the Best Backpacker accommodation category. The AAA is a national organisation for the accommodation industry that represents the very smallest operators to the largest hotel chains throughout Australia. This is an excellent achievement for a hostel that is well used to receiving awards for excellence and achievements.

Sydney Central Hall of Fame

Earlier this year Sydney Central YHA scored a hat-trick by winning Australia’s Best Backpacking Accommodation for the third year running at the Australian Tourism Awards. These three wins in a row now qualify the hostel to be entered into the Tourism Awards Hall of Fame, reserved only for historic hat-trick winners. These awards are the tourism industry’s biggest and most prestigious event of the year.

Sydney Central YHA

Sydney Central YHA LoungeSo what makes Sydney Central so special? Well for starters the hostel is housed in a heritage-listed building that is suspended above the remnants of some of Australia’s earliest European settlement. Those interested in a little history can also visit the on-site ‘Big Dig’ Archaeology Education Centre. Sydney Central YHA is also environmentally sustainable and the only 5-star hostel in this fabulous city.

Some facilities the hostel provides include a great outdoor sunny area offering panoramic views of Sydney and also a rooftop heated pool, sauna, 2 large kitchens, meeting rooms, group facilities and cinema.

Hostel Attractions

Sydney Central YHA ReceptionThe hostel is conveniently located opposite Central Station and within a short walk to Chinatown, Darling Harbour and many wonderful bars, cafes and shops. Because it is centrally located, it is also close to many attractions the city has to offer including Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and The Rocks which is the oldest place in Sydney and the foundation place of Australia.

The hostel offers double, family and shared rooms all with en-suite bathrooms and prices start from $39 per person per night. We think Sydney Central is a great hostel to stay at, but don’t just take our word for it, look out for the next award coming its way. The hostel is open all year round and booking details can be found on our Sydney Central YHA page.
