Say HI for Peace

Did you notice anything different? Our annual campaign celebrating the UN day of International Peace has a new name, Say HI for Peace!

Through Say HI for Peace 2022, we aim to highlight the role of travel and hostels in supporting peace and how seemingly small, simple actions, like that of an uncomplicated hello and an introduction, can have resounding positive effects. Learning and understanding play a foundational role in supporting peace. With this in mind, along with the words of a wise woman that peace begins with a smile, we propose that peace can begin with a HI.

To get the ball rolling we have invited staff from across the HI-Network and our partners to introduce themselves, share some of their top travel tips, challenge cultural biases and stereotypes and let us know what peace means to them.

Get involved online

We will be sharing video clips across our social media platforms in the run-up to the International Day of Peace, 21 September. These videos will provide unique insights and perspectives from staff across the HI Network to help us learn and understand more about the cultures and world that surrounds us.

Don’t be afraid to get involved and share your thoughts and experiences in the comments!
