A tour de France in food: Fête de la Gastronomie 2015

Everyone knows French food is hard to beat, and people travel from all corners of the globe to sample fluffy soufflés, heavenly pastries, fresh bouillabaisse and famous wines to accompany any regional dish you can imagine.

Fête de la Gastronomie, the French cuisine festival, will be held on the 25th, 26th and 27th of September this year, a three-day-long nationwide feast bringing together community spirit, creativity and cultural explorations through the taste buds – an unmissable experience for both travellers and locals.

Paris: a party for your palate

Paris Yves Robert hostel have a treat in store for guests over the three day festivities. On Friday 25th, the staff have organised a Parisian aperitif at the city’s Inn’s bar for an authentic sample of France’s capital; Saturday sees some sensual sampling, a ‘guess the flavour’ tasting game which is free of cost for hostellers. Amiens: a cheesy welcome to Normandy
