Waking up to a hostel breakfast in a busy, chattering dining room is all part of the hostelling experience for travellers that are willing to emerge from under the covers in the mornings. There are some hostels that make getting up early for breakfast so worth it. Think bland cereal and a limp piece of toast are all you can expect from our hostels? Think again. This incredible hostel is set in a treehouse in Olympos, Turkey, close-by to the only breeding ground of loggerhead turtles. A tasty breakfast buffet is served daily and the delicious cuisine doesn’t stop there – Kadir’s also features a seafood restaurant, a snack bar and two bars serving guests from lunchtime until late at night. Food is mainly vegetarian with meat dishes served twice weekly.

Danhostel Ribe is found in the oldest town in Denmark close to the Wadden Sea National Park, one of the world’s most important wetlands. Before heading out for a day spent exploring the medieval town of Ribe or the wetlands, guests can tuck into breakfast at the hostel’s on-site restaurant. Danhostel Ribe also features a bar, barbecue area and self-catering kitchen.

Helsinki – Stadion Hostel, Finland

Use the self-catering kitchen or, for an extra charge, dive into a buffet breakfast breakfast fit for a king – or for an athlete since Stadion Hostel is set in Helsinki Olympic Stadium! You’ll need to fuel yourself up for a day spent taking advantage of the free tours of the stadium offered by the hostel followed by a trip to nearby Linnanmäki Amusement Park.
