Grab your chance to win amazing prizes with Hostelling International Canada and their Best of Backpacking (BOB) campaign. Help them to build the ultimate backpacker guide to Canada simply by sharing your photos you’ve taken along your travels across the country. Last summer you shared your summer photos and now it’s time to do the same for the winter season when this country really shimmers.

Here’s how you can participate:

  1. Take photos of the places to go, things to do, people to meet, food to eat, mountains to ski down, lakes to play hockey on, cities to explore and everything else a backpacker can try from coast to coast to coast.
  2. Tag your photos on Instagram with #bobcanada and make sure your Photo Map is turned on so the location is tagged. Find out how to do this.
  3. Caption it. Let us know where it is and why your fellow travellers should check it out.
  4. Follow Hostelling International – Canada on Facebook and see BOB favourites.

Win sweet prizes

Each week the best BOB photo will be chosen and the lucky winner gets $50 to spend at Mountain Equipment Co-op and one night for 2 at any of HI hostels in Canada. Whether it’s an awesome shot, an incredible travel tip or some perfect yet-to-be-discovered combo of what it is that makes backpacking in Canada such an epic experience. Find out more >>

The winter edition of the Best of Backpacking competition runs until 11 April 2014, so you better start taking those shots to be in with a chance of  winning a prize.

Crossing a lake using only dog power. Just one more reason you gotta do Canada in the winter.

Canada is the best at three things: hockey, curling and snowbanks.
