Day 4 – BBE Daily Summary!
It’s day four and the bloggers trips are in full swing! Already, most of them have explored one (or more) cities in their exchange country and are starting to settle in to the new timezone. Lots of the bloggers have written a full blog post about the trip so far, complete with lots of images (some of which we will share below) so make sure you check them all out on the wall – here.
Andy Anderson from USA (blogging from Spain)
Andy is currently staying in Madrid at the Santa Cruz de Mercenado Hostel and has spent his first few days exploring the architecture – and the entertainment.
He was surprised to see Mickey and Minnie Mouse in Spain!
Next, he’s off to explore Segovia where he will stay in a castle at Toledo! Catch up on all his adventures here.
Sara Rodriguez from Spain (blogging from USA)
Sara has visited Chinatown (to try the noodles) and has been to Quincy Market!
She is loving the traditional American decor!
Audur Osp from Iceland (blogging from Israel)
Audur spoke on Ali’s blog today about contemplating converting to food blogging – because all she’s done since arriving in Israel is trial the delicious food on offer. She says that vegetarians would be in their element there, because a lot of the dishes are not centered around meat – but other flavorsome ingredients.
One of her favourite discoveries so far (along with New Media director Anat) is hummus.
And, despite initial reservations – Audur is really beginning to enjoy her trip! She says:
“I have to say that Jerusalem has surprised me. I didn’t expect to like it nor did I think I would feel short for time during my visit. To be honest I didn’t really know what to expect and sometimes uncertainty brings out sides of me I really wished would never rear their ugly heads. I’m glad I didn’t give up this amazing opportunity like I was contemplating for a while and am thankful that the world (and the Big Blog Exchange of course) has brought me here. Controversies and all.”
Ali Karp from Israel (blogging from Iceland)
Ali has been enjoying Iceland so far, including a visit to Iceland’s famous Blue Lagoon! Wow – we’re jealous!
She recently blogged about her experiences at the Geothermal pool (where the water is milky because it is shaped by the silica mineral). You can catch up with that here.
Kisty Mea from Singapore (blogging from the UK)
Kisty is on her way to Manchester having spent a few days in Shropshire and Stratford. She is really enjoying the English countryside!
Sophie Roberts from UK (blogging from Singapore)
Sophie has arrived at the Costa Sands resort Sentosa Hostel and is enjoying her first few days in Singapore!
In true ‘Challenge Sophie’ style, she has been getting stuck into the challenges!
We love this picture of her view at night!
Rosario Lamastra from Argentina (blogging from New Zealand)
Describing Wellington as the ‘coolest smallest city in the world’ Rosario managed to snap some ‘street style’ pictures, depicting Wellington’s ‘hipsters’.
But, she could not leave Wellington without having view of the entire city..
She took a cable car to the botanical gardens to enjoy the incredible scenery and today she is heading to Queenstown!
Katherine Kearsley from New Zealand(blogging from Argentina)
Katherine has been exploring Colonia, despite the rain – and has taken some lovely pictures which we are enjoying following!
She had a minor mishap when she forgot to put the handbrake on her car!
But also managed to taste a chocolate and orange crepe – yum!
Natalia from Brazil (blogging from France)
Natalia’s trip so far has been jam packed full of exciting activities – from meeting Marie Jeanne, to staying in Paris’ new eco-hostel Paris Pajol. She toured the city by bike and found the smallest house in Paris!
Next, she’s off to Lyon!
Claire from France (blogging from Brazil)
Claire has been enjoying her time in Brazil so far, blogging from the great outdoors – and drinking coco water straight from the source!
We love how she has customized her BBE t-shirt, don’t you?!
Camie Juan from Philippines (blogging from Germany)
Camie has blogged about her first two days in Germany, giving readers an insight into what it’s like being in a foreign country for the first time (a little daunting) and how to overcome it!
We love all the fantastic pictures she has blogged, and how she has reported on her trip so far. We almost feel like we are there with her!
After arriving in Frankfurt, Camie set off to Munich (navigating the train system on her own – which is admirable if you have no experience of it before). She is now staying in HI Munich Park Hostel!
She also made several great observations about Germany in comparison to what the Filipinos think – she says she is going to go home and de-bunk several myths!
Camie is very interested in German history, and so yesterday visited Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site in Munich, and updated via Instagram posts.
Follow Camie’s journey here.
Tina from Germany (blogging from Philippines)
Look at Tina’s view this morning!
We wish we were there!
Tasting Halo-Halo for the first time (a traditional dessert) Tina said was both ‘yummy’ and ‘interesting’ with a mix of cornflakes, beans and ice cream.
She even spotted a Tarsier!
And visited the famous chocolate hills (although they are still green at this time of year!).
Liesbet from Belgium (blogging from South Africa)
After a sunny hike to Cape Point, where she spotted lots of animals and wildlife – including penguins, Liesbet and her new friends in South Africa went for a dinner, where she was able to try out some more local cuisine.
Didi from South Africa (blogging from Belgium)
Didi has been exploring Belgium even further!
She even enjoyed a day at the seaside learning how to surf!
Jeremy Fowler from Canada (blogging from Malaysia)
Jeremy is getting along well in Malaysia and has blogged about his first day on Chee Chingy’s blog. He’s sent us a few pictures of his trip so far!
Chee Chingy from Malaysia (blogging from Canada)
Chee has been enjoying the sun in Canada – and tasting the food! Yum!
She is now flying across Canada to Banff (it’s a big place and there’s lots to explore).
