Trendy Hostel with Characteristic Stayokay Ambiance Reopens!

Stayokay Soest reopened its doors to its first new guests early last month following a major refurbishment that has seen the hostel virtually fully renovated. Hostel Soest is situated in woodlands and has 34 rooms, a bar, a restaurant, and seven multi-purpose areas for weddings, parties, meetings, training courses and workshops for groups of up to two hundred people. Guests can also relax in the hostel’s lounge or on its terraces after an exhausting day out exploring the wonderful countryside and surrounding areas. The official opening of this sustainable, family-friendly hostel will be celebrated in festive style in September 2012.

The Soest hostel is located close to the Soesterduinen nature reserve in a former school building dating back to the early twentieth century. The Rotterdam-based architectural firm Personal Architecture created the design that has transformed Stayokay Soest into a modern, transparent building. The existing building has been extended and connected to a newly constructed and imposing building and the resulting design is a quadrangle around an enclosed, tranquil patio.

Comfortable Accommodation

Stayokay Soest has every modern amenity conceivable for a comfortable night’s stay. All thirty-four rooms with a total of 150 beds have been furnished with flexible bunks, showers and toilets. The hostel also has rooms for two to six guests that are suitable for individual guests, families, groups or business travellers. A night’s accommodation starts at just €18.50 p.p. including a hearty and healthy breakfast. All multi-purpose rooms have their own terrace which are perfect for business events and private functions.

Modern and Hospitable Interior

Stayokay Soest is the first hostel in a rural setting sporting the designer Edward van Vliet’s new interior design concept. The hostel has a clean-lined, modern interior design with a hospitable look and feel. Green colour and material accents are a reference to the hostel’s woodland setting. The restaurant has been tiled with a mosaic floor pattern. Warm, natural colours have been used throughout all rooms.
