Our Hostel is very unique in Sydney. Built in the Historic 1904 ‘Inwards Parcel Shed’, we are attached to Sydney Central Railway Station. Not only do we offer rooms in the Historic Building but we also offer accommodation in train carriages!
We have several 4 and 8 share dorm carriages which are fixed onto the old railway tracks and boarder onto Platform 1 of Central Station. It’s not uncommon to see a train pull up on the other side of the platform while looking out of your dorm room window.
Features of Railway Square Hostel include:
- Cafe – we sell the cheapest coffee in town!
- Spa pool
- Eco-friendly
- Self-Catering kitchen
- 24-Hour Reception
- HI-Q Certification
- Amazingly friendly staff!
We are well located in Sydney’s CBD, just a 2 minute walk from the infamous China Town and the thriving suburb of Surry Hill’s. Surry Hill’s is a hub for creativity, well known for its funky bar’s, eclectic cafe’s, contemporary galleries and also a great place to go shopping for one off designer wears and vintage clothing.
The design of the Hostel itself is very contemporary. The common area is open plan and a great place for guests to meet. The Hostel has a relaxed vibe and attracts a lot of International long terms who refer to Railway Square as home. October of last year we were HI-Q re-certified (Quality Management System).
We are an eco-friendly Hostel. We recently purchased rain water tanks to help minimise our environmental footprint. We also support various charities including the Smith Family and Conservation Society Sea Shepherd.
