Day 1
On a hot sunny day off we set on our adventure tour. An exclusive day lay ahead. Beautiful scenery and sampling some beers including one at 10% alcohol! After going to the southern point of Africa and a nice walk along the beach it was back to the hostel for a delishious meal – yummy! I was rather impressed with the cooking skills of our guide Martin. That night I sipped a few ciders while getting to know my travelling companion better. Day one was a great start and I thought to myself this week is going to be a good one.
Day 2
Today we woke to a nice breakfast and off we set. The weather looked a bit off but I thought to myself no amount of rain is going to spoil my fun. After stopping Ronnie Sex Shop (although I did think to myself where can you buy the naughty things usually found in a sex shop he he) we chilled out in the relaxing spa’s and we were off on the road again in search of ostriches. Riding one was rather amusing. However that night when tucking into a fine piece of ostrich meat I did wonder ‘is it wrong that this taste so good’. Another fine meal – very yummy!
Day 3
I only have one word to describe this day “scary”. That afternoon I put my life into the hands of a bungy rope ‘what was I thinking’ but wow what an amazing feeling – it was such a rush.
Day 4
Zipling was a cool experience and beautiful views to take in. The accommodation that night was very chilled and relaxing, again a yummy dinner was served and we spent the evening sitting under the stars, round a fire, drinking wine. I thought to myself I could get used to evenings like these.
Day 5
This morning we spent in Addo Elephant Park where we spotted some of the Big 5 and a whale and heaps of kudu’s. The animals got very close to us and all looked so peaceful. That afternoon it was off to J-Bay. After a nice lunch we chilled out on the beach drinking cider. A nice sunny day.
Day 6
The day started with a scrummy hot breakfast. Then off to see elephants and monkeys and then to our accommodation on the beach. That night we toasted our tour with a drink or 20! The shots were flowing and I started to feel sad that this trip was coming to an end, however I met some cool interesting people and have lots of happy memories and photos.
Day 7
After an amazing breakfast overlooking Myoli Beach we greeted the friendly staff from Afrovibe and set off on our leisurely drive back to Cape Town. We stopped off for some photos along the way and visited the aloe factory at Albertina. Back in Cape Town we said goodbye to everyone – it was such an amazing experience and I would recommend it to everyone!
What a great journey, and if you would like to experience some of the wonders of this great country has to offer then here is a full list of all of our Hostels in South Africa.
