YHA Mei Ho House Hostel in Hong KongWhether you’re planning an in-depth visit to Hong Kong or a tour of Asia and just stopping by to visit this beautiful city along the way, you won’t regret staying over at YHA Mei Ho House hostel, the first-ever YHA city hostel in Hong Kong.

Mei Ho House is due to open in the latter part of 2012 and this new hostel is expected to play a key role helping Hong Kong to becoming the Asian hub for worldwide backpackers. This high expectation is based on the hostel’s convenient location and the unique heritage characteristics of this incredible building.

The hostel is located in Sham Shui Po, the urban area of Hong Kong. With excellent accessibility (5 minutes’ walk to the nearest public transportation) and a great range of traveller facilities in the near vicinity, this hostel is ideal for visitors looking to explore the many tourist attractions Hong Kong has to offer.

Mei Ho HouseThe architecture of Mei Ho House is a wonderful and striking example of Hong Kong’s earliest public housing design. The hostel will offer 129 independent hostel rooms, all converted from the public housing units of the original (and now the city’s only) H-shaped, six-storey resettlement block built in 1954. If you’re looking to stay at the hostel, do spend some time visiting the nearby Livelihood Museum which offers the opportunity to experience Hong Kong’s local community lifestyle over the years.
